First and foremost, I have to share the intricate details of what God has really put on my heart. As it says in Colossians 3:23, "Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men.
Being that I stay home with my children, I have had some time to create some items for events to give to family and friends. It all began with wanting to send my sister a baby shower gift although I was over 600 miles away and wouldn't be able to attend. Reading on what the most popular gifts are in that time, there were a lot of references to purchasing what they called "Diaper Cakes" -which are one of the most amazing -out of uniqueness- from the heart gifts. I thought to myself, I can do this! I have always been pretty crafty, but now I had the opportunity to create something I have never created before. That was 3 years ago, and many cakes later -along with also other gifts not limited to: wreaths, burp cloths, scrapbooks and pre-made scrapbook pages, handmade cards etc...
What an opportunity while I am able to actively participate in -living on the brink of insanity- the high demands of schedules for my wonderful husband and 4 children. Let me introduce you. I have been married for 3 wonderful years this September to the love of my life. We have a lovely 16 year old Junior highly involved in Marching Band and is now in Varsity swimming. Next is my wonderful 13 year old son who is also in 8th grade band, (will also be in marching band his freshman year) and Tennis. Skip a few years, and whaaaala! We have our precious 3 year old whom was birthed into our hearts and has been with us since January 2009. Last but not least -well, uh, unless we are greatly surprised by the failing of medical procedures or another adoption, we have our angel 1 year old boy who came to be revealed the night after a tragic loss in our family.
Enough personal for now, however, I share this to help paint the canvas of our little bitty life I would like to use for the Glory of God.
I have been kicking around the idea for a while now on how it is I can stay home and work on schooling myself, manage a household of 6 (and two fuzzy 70 LB lovable boxers) yet still contribute to God ministerially, my family emotionally and financially, and reach out to family, friends and those I will be graced with through any and all vessels. So, here I am, beginning to pursue a foundation with a talent to create that I feel God has given to me.
I started off by visiting a craft event and boy did the thoughts begin to fly wildly! I was thinking BIG BIG BIG. So instead of -which I am not excited to admit- asking God to reveal to me where I should go with this, I decided that I needed to create, create, create and prepare to buy into a booth. To make a long (and exhausting) story short, God opened a door in a direction I should have considered first. Serving. When we do things God's way, things are birthed into existence that are much more beautiful, hence where the talent's source is anyway. -There's my preaching for the day! Ha!
Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. ~1 Peter 4:10~
You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature ; rather, serve one another in love. ~Galatians 5:13~
So, here we are, slowly, cautiously, conservatively, patiently and humbly in the works of a desire to create gifts that serve the purpose for beautiful people. Please feel free to browse the photo's, and join our Facebook Fan Page.
If you know someone who is expecting and would like to provide a gift to the mom and dad to be, please feel free to email me at: weelilcakesandcoos@gmail.com
Blessings to you! Enjoy!
